Feng shui (traditional Chinese: 風水; simplified Chinese: 风水; pinyin: fēng shuǐ; pronounced /ˈfəŋˌʃueɪ/ foong-shoy in Chinese Mandarin, "fheng-schway" in American English) is an ancient Chinese system of aesthetics believed to utilize the Laws of both heaven (astronomy) and Earth (geography) to help one improve life by receiving positive Qi. The original designation for the discipline is Kan Yu (traditional Chinese: 堪輿; simplified Chinese: 堪舆; pinyin: kānyú; literally: Tao of heaven and earth).

The words feng shui literally translate as "wind-water" in English. This is a cultural shorthand taken from the following passage of the Zhangshu (Book of Burial) by Guo Pu of the Jin Dynasty:

Qi rides the wind and scatters, but is retained when encountering water.

Traditional Feng Shui practice always requires an extremely accurate Chinese compass, or Luo Pan, in order to determine the directions in finding any auspicious sector in a desired location.

Feng Shui Bed Fire - Four Fabulous Ways to Ignite Your Love Life!

Having a Feng Shui bed and bedroom based on sound Feng Shui principles can transform a dull and dreary love life into hot sizzling passion and fun. If you've been missing out on this exciting dimension in your life, take action and put these tips into practice for reviving a waning romance or attracting a new passionate love partner!

The master bed, where lovemaking traditionally takes place is a huge power center in Feng Shui. Your bed is the most powerful piece of furniture that you own because your essence and energy is contained within your bed...(remember, you spend one-third of your time there!).

The master bed is the place where you and your partner experience the intense passion of romance...(or soon will!). Here are four easy ways to multiply the Feng Shui power quotient of your master bed and experience more intense passion than you've ever had before:

1. Strengthen your bed. Your bed is weak if your headboard is flimsy or loose. Best headboards are made of solid wood and do not move when touched or grasped. Having a weak headboard translates to a lack of support and weakened foundation for rejuvenation. This can compromise your sleep and health, draining away the energy you would otherwise have for passion and romance.

If you cannot strengthen your existing headboard, invest in a new one as soon as you can. Feel free to wrap your solid headboard in a soft fabric or upholstery to lessen the "hardness" of the wood. Make choices that draw and retain the energy of romance.

2. Mood lighting for love. The best Feng Shui choice for bedroom lighting and romance are candles. Candles are often associated with romance. Choose candles that are heart shaped or serve as romance instigators. Choose candles that are not strongly scented, as these could be overpowering and detract from the ambiance you are looking to create. Light your bedroom candles often and visualize your romantic life the way you want it to be.

3. Decorate with romance colors. Sizzle up your bed with pink or red sheets! If red is too overpowering or intense, pink is a good choice that will attract and hold the energy of love for your bed.

4. Eliminate bad Chi aimed at your bed. Sit upright on your bed and take a look around. Are there any sharp corners pointing at your bed from furniture pieces? In other words, does your furniture have right angle corners directly facing your bed?

If so, drape an attractive cloth or fabric over the offending corner, or remove the piece from the room. Is there a mirror staring at your bed? Mirrors cause confusion in bedrooms and detract from romance. Remove mirrors or cover them with an attractive fabric that heightens feelings of romance.

These four Feng Shui bed tips will help you get the most from your bed and bedroom and bring in the energy of romance. Try them and ignite your love life for more passion and fun!
