In simple terms, Feng Shui is the art of mindfulness. When we consciously organize and decorate space using Feng Shui principles based on the "energy map" of the Bagua our environment acts like a magnet to attract our highest intention. If it's love that you are seeking, then your space must exude love, sensuality and sacredness. It should also reflect grace, harmony and beauty to attract a healthy and loving partner.
The Bedroom Basics! - A good place to start!
Your bedroom is a retreat. A beautiful space to relax, rest and feel comforted. A Bedroom is also a place for love and romance.
So many of us have begun to use our bedrooms as a second family room or office! Tvs, stereos, desks, computers-they have all found their way into our bedroom-and we wonder why we never feel rested!
You need to take back your bedroom! And use it for its real purpose-a place to rejuvenate your soul and to connect with your partner!
1. Remove any distractions (offices/tvs etc,) if you can't; then keep them extremely cleaned and organized and ensure that you cannot see them from your bed! (A beautiful screen separating them is ideal)
2. Clear your clutter! Clutter as we have talked about leaves stagnant energy-not good for your sex life! Make sure your bedroom is clean -especially under your bed!
3. Invest in beautiful linens-Do you want to feel luxurious, sensual, nurtured? Purchase fabrics that feel fabulous!
4. Colour for Love-Different colours invoke different feelings in us-use colours of red, pink, maroon and purple to invoke passion, use colours of yellow, cream, peach and beige to feel nurtured and embraced with warmth! Avoid blues that dampen passion, or whites that feel cold. Use these colours for accessories, sheets, draperies or walls!
5. Gender Neutral-Your bedroom should be balanced and appeal to both partners. It should neither be too masculine nor too feminine but a lovely balance of both in order for both partners to feel nurtured and secure.
6. The Bed Position- Refer to your auspicious directions if possible and place the bed in the optimum facing for you and your partner-or just you if you are single. Ensure the bed has a view of the door, and is not under a window if possible (use a heavy blind or drape if necessary. Never use a bed from a previous relationship
7. Use the real fire element! Light candles or a fireplace to create an intimate and romantic room
8. Ceiling Fans- Ceiling fans disrupt a body's chi and your romantic chi, you should either swap it out for a chandelier on a dimmer, or minimize the blades by placing red dots on eat blade. (keep it on very low when absolutely necessary).
9. Scent for Love- Use beautiful scents, experiences through incense,oils, sprays, soaps or candles. Sensual scents include Jasmine, Sandlewood, Vanilla, Ylang Ylang and Rose. Scents can be used as a type of aphrodisiac!
10. In good repair! - If you want your relationship to be in good standing, your bedroom should be as well. Ensure any repairs are handled.
11. Create a "love" alter- Pick a space (on your dresser or a separate table where you can place a picture of you and your partner (or a symbol of a couple, with a beautiful crystal, a keepsake box of special items and perhaps some of your favourite music!
Don't wait until you have a partner! You can do all of this while you are waiting for your soul mate to enter your life!
